Quick Deployment Guide

This section shows the main steps to deploy a Riedel Software (such as STAGE) on a server or virtual machine.

A step-by-step description of the installation can be found in chapter Usage .

Preparations

Prepare Operating Systems

Before installing Software with Riedel Software Manager (RSM), prepare the Nodes (servers, computers, virtual machines) you intend to install software on with an operating system. For this, follow the official guides of the operating systems.

The nodes must have an Internet and SSH remote connection for the RSM installation.

Download Required Assets

To create a server based Riedel software installation, at least three files are required and need to be obtained from Riedel Customer Success:

  • Riedel Software Manager (RSM)
Main Application (Windows, macOS or Linux)

  • Suite File (*.suite)
Choose the suite file containing all desired Riedel features

  • Node File (*.node)
Choose the node file fitting your operating system version

Launch Riedel Software Manager

Start the RSM application and open in a web browser the address “http://localhost:8900” to view its user interface.

Configurations

Create new Server Configuration

Add a new Server Configuration and provide a name for it.

Manage Suite File

Import your *.suite file to the system.

Configure and Enable Packages

Select the Suite - the included packages are displayed on the right side - and enter the package settings. Then click Save and Enable to use the package for this Configuration.

Clusters

Create new Cluster Setup

Provide a name for the Cluster, choose whether you want to use high availability or not (high availability Cluster Setups require three Nodes).

Select Connectivity

Select if you want to provide a domain name or IP address for your Cluster Setup.

Provide Connection Details for Nodes

Enter the IP address or host name, as well as the ssh credentials of the servers or virtual machines that should be part of the Cluster Setup.

Provide Server File

Upload a *.node file for your operating system to the Riedel Software Manager.

Create Cluster Setup

Review the provided information and proceed by clicking “Create Cluster”.
Riedel Software Manager is now preparing the provided servers or virtual machines.

Download Cluster Certificate

Now download the Cluster Certificate. This certificate is the “key” to connect to this Cluster Setup with the Riedel Software Manager at a later time or from another computer.

Install Configuration
on a Cluster Setup

Install Configuration

Select a Configuration from the left side and a Cluster Setup in the center area and click the “Install Configuration on selected Cluster” button on the lower left corner.
