Virtual SmartPanel Quick Start Guide

This is a quick start guide to help you to get Virtual SmartPanel up and running. Virtual SmartPanel should be configured in the following order.

1. Install the Hardware Necessary to run STAGE

Install on the network the required:

  • Artist-1024.

2. Pre-Installation Checklist

Install, configure, and validate the following network services / items.

3. Software Installation and Management

Install Riedel Software Manager. See RSM Quick Start Guide.

Use the Riedel Software Manager to install the necessary software:

4. Login to STAGE

Login to STAGE to start configuring the platform. STAGE Start & Login.

View system information, install product licenses, and adjust global settings. Configure STUN / TURN server(s). See STAGE System Management.

7. User Management

Create Credentials for / enroll the STAGE users who will have access this system. Or connect STAGE to an authentication service. STAGE User Management.

8. System Commissioning

For the Virtual SmartPanel, the goal of System Commissioning is to integrate the intercom hardware necessary for the WebRTC Gateway servers to support the Virtual SmartPanel APP.

  • Registration: Find and configure network connected devices and servers to make them available for use by STAGE, such as WebRTC Gateway servers, and Artist-1024 devices. See chapter Registration.

  • Configuration: Configure each registered host type, including the network(s) the Host is using in Network Scope. See Host Configuration.

9. Virtual SmartPanel Configuration

To support the Virtual SmartPanel, you have to create the screens that the Virtual SmartPanel user will see and interact with.

  • Function Builder: This view is used to create and manage virtual SmartPanels that can be used on smartphones, tablets or in a web browser on a computer. Each STAGE member uses a separate virtual SmartPanel in STAGE. See Function Builder .

  • User/Port Assignment: This view allows assigning STAGE Users to Intercom Ports. It also facilitates the monitoring of Virtual SmartPanel license utilization and supports the reservation of VSP licenses for specific users. See User/Port Assignment .

  • Housekeeping: This view allows deciding whether removed Intercom Resources should be deleted or kept for later use. See Housekeeping .

10. Testing the Virtual SmartPanel Configuration

Use the Virtual SmartPanel Browser to preview a configured Virtual SmartPanel in the browser. See Virtual SmartPanel Browser.

11. Use the Virtual SmartPanel APP on a mobile device

Put the Virtual SmartPanel into production. Tech users how to use the Virtual SmartPanel APP. See STAGE Virtual SmartPanel App.

Review events and monitor live metrics collected from managed devices and services. See STAGE System Health.
