This is a quick start guide to help you to get SAME DSP Engine up and running. The SAME DSP Engine should be configured in the following order.
1. Install the Hardware Necessary to run STAGE
Install on the network the required:

STAGE servers and validate their availability. See SAME_ SAME Server Hardware Requirements.

Hardware devices (Hosts).
2. Pre-Installation Checklist
Install, configure, and validate the following network services / items.

Enable DNS/mDNS network services.
-
Setup multicast media networks. See SAME_ Network Architecture Requirements.

Configure the network switch’s routing fabric between the STAGE servers and the hardware devices (Hosts). See SAME_ SAME Network Architecture.

Enable PTP V2 is available on your network. See SAME_ SAME DSP Engine Configuration.

OPTIONAL: For user management, STAGE can use an authentication service. This service must be made available to STAGE. See STAGE Identity Providers.
3. Software Installation and Management
Install Riedel Software Manager. See RSM Quick Start Guide.
Use the Riedel Software Manager to install the necessary software:

Install STAGE. See STAGE Software Installation Overview.

Install SAME. See SAME_ Installation of SAME DSP Engine.
4. Login to STAGE
Login to STAGE to start configuring the platform. See STAGE Start & Login.
5. Network Management
Define Network Scopes and multicast address ranges. See STAGE Network Management.
6. System Management
View system information, install product licenses, and adjust global settings. See STAGE System Management.
Also, enable NMOS and enable Riedel Discovery. See SAME_ NMOS-IS04 Configuration.
7. User Management
Create Credentials for / enroll the STAGE users who will have access this system. Or connect STAGE to an authentication service. See STAGE User Management.
8. System Commissioning
For the SAME DSP Engine, the goal of System Commissioning is to associate hardware audio inputs and outputs to virtual devices in STAGE that represent this hardware, using the following sequence.

Registration: Find and configure network connected devices and servers to make them available for use by STAGE. Register Discovered Hosts to specific locations and configure host parameters.
This includes creating Unmanged Hosts in STAGE for non-NMOS audio interface devices; this is a device that STAGE is unable to configure or control. However, this host can send and receive AES67 audio stream(s).

Configuration: Configure each registered host type, including the network(s) the Host is using in Network Scope. See SAME_ Host Configuration.

NMOS-IS04: Shows the NMOS configuration details.

Unmanaged Host: For each unmanaged host:

Set the SDP files each unmanaged host is to use.
-
Set the Producers and Consumers; the audio interface configuration details about the streams the device can process; for example, bit rate, bit depth, and the number of supported channels.

SAME DSP Engine: Set the DSP volumes to be made available to SAME DSP users. These volumes are audio processing elements such as limiters, mixers, generators, and so on that you will use to process audio signals in the SAME DSP Engines.

I/O Management: Map Hardware Devices to Virtual Devices for use in Jobs. For example, Virtual Devices are used to represent elements of the real world (e.g. Mono Microphone) that are not directly visible to STAGE. This assigns display names to signals to give them a meaning in a production environment. See SAME_ I/O Management.
9. Creating Jobs
Prepare, configure and activate resources for you next production or live event. For more information about Jobs, see SAME_ Jobs.

Job Setup: Create the collection of resources (Virtual Devices) required for a production or a live event. A Job is created from elements of the volumes you have previously created. See SAME_ Job Setup.

Set the Roles (the type of user to fulfill a task in STAGE), the Devices, and the SAME DSP Engine Applications, and the signals to use for a Job. See SAME_ Configuring a Job Setup .

Configure the default SAME DSP Application behavior. See SAME_ SAME Application Configuration.

Set the Devices and SAME DSP Applications to use for a Job. See SAME_ Adoption Setup.

10. Audio Pilot
When working with SAME DSP Audio Tools within Jobs, use Audio Pilot to:

Manage the available SAME DSP configurations and to access their control user interfaces for all running Jobs.

Select the monitoring source to listen to it.
