1200-SmartPanels

Network

In the Network menu, the Ethernet connections of the SmartPanel (ETH 1...4) can be activated and the respective network settings edited. Furthermore, the Ethernet connections are assigned to the interfaces (MEDIA 1/2 and MGNT management).

Status

Display of status information of the three network interfaces Media 1, Media 2 and MGNT.

  • It is displayed if the interface is deactivated. (Disabled)

  • An activated interface shows the current IP address and the gateway.

  • It is displayed whether the interface has an Ethernet connection. (Link: up/down)

MEDIA 1 /
MEDIA 2

Definition, which audio interface (MEDIA 1/2) shall be transported via which Ethernet port (ETH 1...4).

Two seperate Media networks can be enabled to support 'Seamless Protection Switching' according to SMPTE 2022-7. An intercom audio stream is duplicated and transported over different paths between the SmartPanel and the Artist-1024. The two streams are combined within the receiver and reconstructed to the original stream, e.g.:

  • If packet A is lost in path MEDIA 1, packet A is taken from path MEDIA 2.

  • If path MEDIA 1 fails completely, the entire data stream is taken over by path MEDIA 2.

Any combination of the SFP ports (ETH 3/4) and/or RJ45 ports (ETH 1/2) can be configured for 2022-7 redundancy. Thus, it is possible to create a redundancy scheme in a mixed fiber and copper network.

If both MEDIA interfaced are used, it must be ensured that different subnets are configured for Media 1 and Media 2, otherwise routing problems may occur.

Media Port

Activation by selecting the Ethernet port to be assigned to the corresponding Media x interface. (ETH 1 ... ETH 4, Disabled)

Config Mode

Configuration mode of the Media x interfaces. (DHCP, Static)

Changes take effect immediately without the device having to be rebooted. Manual entries are saved when DHCP is selected and called up again when you return to Static.

IP Address

Static IP-address of the Media x port.

Subnet Mask

Network mask of the Media x port.

Gateway

Gateway of the Media x port.

Speed

Selection of the Media x port speed. (Auto, 1G Full-Duplex)

DNS 1 /
DNS 2

The IP addresses of the DNS servers in the network can be set here. If the Config Mode is set to DHCP, the addresses are automatically set as part of the DHCP configuration and the static settings are ignored. The address under DNS 1 is used first to find the DNS server. If this is not successful, the address under DNS 2 is used.

MGNT

Activation and configuration of the management port (RJ45) of the SmartPanel. This port is used exclusively for configuring the SmartPanel and enables a separation between the audio and the configuration network.

If this port is activated and the web interface of the SmartPanel is to be accessible via the MGNT port, this must also be selected in the menu Applications > Web Interface.

Port

Enable / disable the MGNT port. (Disabled, Enabled)

Config Mode

Configuration mode of the Media x interface. (DHCP, Static)

Changes take effect immediately without the device having to be rebooted. Manual entries are saved when DHCP is selected and called up again when you return to Static.

DHCP is only allowed if the SmartPanel is operated on an Artist with the firmware version 8.6 (or higher).

IP Address

Static IP-address of the MGNT port.

Subnet Mask

Network mask of the MGNT port.

Gateway

Gateway of the MGNT port.

DNS 1 /
