Intended Purpose
The Riedel 1200 series SmartPanels are professional IP-based user interfaces for Riedel Artist intercom systems. The SmartPanels are intended for operation on trusted and managed networks by trained operators, engineers, and administrators.
The product enables users to:

Initiate, receive, and manage intercom communications.

Access and control assigned keys, talk/listen paths, and workflows.

Display operational information on integrated color displays.
-
Connect to and communicate with Riedel Artist intercom infrastructure over managed IP networks.

Monitor audio signals, display timecodes and send/receive control commands from 3rd party broadcast control systems.

Be configured, administered, and updated by authorized technical personnel.

Operate as part of broadcast, media production, live event, theater, sports venue, and industrial communication environments.
Reasonably Foreseeable Use
Reasonably foreseeable use includes:

Deployment in broadcast studios, OB vans, event venues, theaters, arenas, and control rooms.

Integration into enterprise or production IP networks managed by qualified technical personnel.

Use by trained operators, engineers, production personnel, and system administrators.

Connection to Artist matrices and supporting management systems using Ethernet-based networking.

Remote administration, configuration, software updates, monitoring, and diagnostics through approved Riedel management tools.

Connect headsets, audio accessories, GPIO devices, and other supported peripherals.
These uses remain consistent with the product's functionality and expected operation.
Foreseeable Misuse
1200 series SmartPanels must not be used in safety-critical or high-risk environments where system failure could cause harm or major damage.
Prohibited uses include:

Deployment in safety-critical, life-preserving, or other environments where communication failure could result in injury, loss of life, or significant environmental or industrial damage.

Operation on untrusted, public, unmanaged, or inadequately secured networks.

Connection to networks, systems, or devices that are unmanaged, compromised, or not operated according to accepted cybersecurity practices.

Use of administration workstations, management systems, or engineering tools that are not adequately protected against unauthorized access, malware, or other security threats.

Granting administrative access, user privileges, or communication rights without appropriate authorization and access control processes.

Use of shared, weak, or improperly managed authentication credentials.

Deployment or operation with configurations that do not comply with Riedel documentation, deployment guidance, or security recommendations.

Integration with unsupported, unapproved, insecure, or improperly maintained third-party systems, software, or peripherals.

Installation in locations where unauthorized persons can obtain physical access to the product, its interfaces, or associated network infrastructure.

Installation of unsupported, modified, or unauthorized firmware or software.
Important: Such use falls outside the intended purpose of the product and may increase cybersecurity risks, risks for operational disruption, and the likelihood of unauthorized access to communication services.
