At its core, SimplyLive is a software solution developed to run on multiple COTS hardware platforms with workflows suited for Remote Live Productions. This allows the software to run in Private or Public cloud environments where the server and client architecture can be leveraged to provide end users with the same quality of experience running a their SimplyLive server in the cloud as they would if the server was installed at a remote location.
Architecture in the cloud
The SimplyLive production suite utilizes a robust client/server architecture designed to optimize video production workflows. At the core of this system is the server, known as the backend, which is responsible for all critical processing functions.
These functions include:

Source Decoding: The backend decodes various input sources, ensuring compatibility with the production environment.

Encoding in Production Format: Once decoded, the sources are re-encoded into a high-resolution production format suitable for processing and playout.

Disk Operations: The backend manages read and write operations to disk, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
In addition to high-resolution encoding, the backend also produces a low-resolution format. This format is crucial for the production client's graphical interface, providing a lightweight and responsive user experience.
The system supports a range of transport protocols, such as NDI (Network Device Interface) and SRT (Secure Reliable Transport).
These protocols facilitate the reliable transmission of video contributions over various networks. Upon reception, these sources are decoded and then re-encoded into the production format, ensuring seamless integration into the workflow.
SimplyLive Products in the Cloud
SimplyLive is deployed to cloud servers with a flexible license based commercial model with the same principle of SimplyLive Production Suite Flex except instead of using Riedel COTS servers, cloud compute is used instead.
The key difference being we deploy to customer owned and operated cloud accounts. You only pay Riedel to license the SimplyLive software.
