The installation of a firmware with a USB stick can be done manually or automatically.
For automatic installation proceed as follows:
-
Format an USB pen drive in the FAT32 or NTFS file format.
-
Create the folders: "\\Riedel\firmware\unattended".
-
Copy the desired firmware file into the above mentioned folder.
-
The file does not need to be renamed. All names are accepted.
-
When the SmartPanel is booted, insert the USB pen drive into the USB connector below the info display.
-
The update process is started automatically.
A manual installation can be started via Settings > Service > Firmware Update.
It does not matter in which (sub-) folder the firmware file is located. When the USB stick is plugged in, it is checked for compatible firmware files. Afterwards you can select which firmware should be installed on the SmartPanel. See also chapter Service.
Do not power cycle the panel and do not remove the USB pen drive until the upload procedure is finished.
-
The firmware is uploaded in the SmartPanel now.
-
After the firmware has been loaded, the update process is executed. At this stage, the USB stick can be removed from the SmartPanel.
-
When the firmware update is complete, a countdown is displayed for five seconds after which the SmartPanel restarts automatically.
