FW update via web interface

Enter the IP address of the Web Interface of the SmartPanel in the web browser of a PC on the same network.

  • To determine the IP address of the web interface, the interface of the SmartPanel (MEDIA 1/2, MGNT) via which the web interface can be reached must first be determined in Settings Menu > Appplications: Web UI. After that, the IP address of this interface can be retrieved in Settings Menu > Network.

  • Do not disconnect the SmartPanel from mains during the update process.

Open the web interface of the SmartPanel:

  • Enter the IP address in the web browser (e.g. 192.168.41.159).

The web interface opens:

  • Navigate to the FW Manager tab.

The firmware manager opens:

  • Click on the Install button for the SmartPanel you want to update. Alternatively, click the Install button in the column header to update all 1200 SmartPanels listed.

A dialog box will open for selecting the firmware:

  • Navigate to the location where the firmware file (.cfw) is stored and select the desired firmware by clicking the Open button.

A confirmation dialog box opens:

  • Click on the Install button to start the update.

The selected firmware is transferred into the SmartPanel. A bar graph will show the progress.

Once the transfer is complete, the firmware update will start. A bar graph will show the progress.

The SmartPanel will restart to complete the update. The connection will be interrupted during the restart.

If the connection is re-established after the reboot, the new firmware version is active.

While the update is being performed, the following message appears in the SmartPanel display:

A firmware update is running. The panel may become unresponsive while the update is running. Please do not turn off or reboot the panel while the update is running.
