MGNT

This port is used exclusively for configuring the SmartPanel and enables a separation between the audio and the configuration network.

MEDIA 1/2

Two seperate Media networks can be enabled to support 'Seamless Protection Switching' according to SMPTE 2022-7. An intercom audio stream is duplicated and transported over different paths between the SmartPanel and the Artist-1024. The two streams are combined within the receiver and reconstructed to the original stream, e.g.:

  • If packet A is lost in path MEDIA 1, packet A is taken from path MEDIA 2.

  • If path MEDIA 1 fails completely, the entire data stream is taken over by path MEDIA 2

Any combination of the SFP ports (ETH 3/4) and/or RJ45 ports (ETH 1/2) can be configured for 2022-7 redundancy. Thus, it is possible to create a redundancy scheme in a mixed fiber and copper network.

If both MEDIA interfaced are used, it must be ensured that different subnets are configured for Media 1 and Media 2, otherwise routing problems may occur.

Enable Interface

Activation of the corresponding interface (MGNT, Media 1, and Media 2).

Port

Specifies which audio interface (Media 1/2) should be transported via which Ethernet port (ETH 1...4).

Status

Illustration of the corresponding network connection. Clicking the att_1_for_1915748443.png icon to the right of the illustration displays the MAC address of the port. The Link LED below the illustration indicates whether the interface has an Ethernet connection.

IPV4 Settings

DHCP

If Enable DHCP is activated and the Ethernet port is connected to a network with an active DHCP server, the device attempts to obtain a dynamic IP address automatically. If no server is available, the device assigns a unique link-local address (ZeroConf) to the port itself.

If Enable DHCP is deactivated, the IP parameters are set by the user.

IP-Address

Depending on the DHCP function set:
DHCP inactive: Set the IP address for this Ethernet interface.
DHCP active: Displays the automatically assigned value.

Network Mask

Depending on the DHCP function set:
DHCP inactive: Specify the subnet mask that divides the IP address range between the host network and the network addresses.
DHCP active: Displays the automatically assigned value.

Default Gateway

Depending on the DHCP function set:
DHCP inactive: Set the IP address of the gateway.
DHCP active: Displays the automatically assigned value.

DNS Primary

Depending on the DHCP function set:
DHCP inactive: Set the IP address of the primary DNS server.
DHCP active: Displays the automatically assigned value.

DNS Secondary

Depending on the DHCP function set:
DHCP inactive: Set the IP address of the secondary DNS server.
DHCP active: Displays the automatically assigned value.

Web UI

Specifies which interface can be used to access the SmartPanel web interface.

NMOS-Interface

Specifies which interface the device uses to access the NMOS register and communicate with other IS-04/05/07/08 APIs.

PTP-Source

Specifies which of the two Media Ports (ETH1 / ETH2) the SmartPanel expects PTP data on. If PTP is enabled on both Media Ports, the SmartPanel operates in SMPTE 2022-7 mode, supporting hitless merge redundant networks.
