Generic Distribution Amplifier
Production
Recommended for normal production use.
Caution
Compatibility Note: This information is a general guide and may be incomplete, may not match a specific project implementation, and is subject to change as supported products and versions evolve. Confirm the exact implementation and requirements for each project with Riedel and the relevant equipment vendor, then validate the required functions end to end in the target environment before deployment.
This is a static topology template. Verify that its configured endpoint counts match the physical Signal Path.
Minimum hi Version: v2.0.0
Overview
This generic template represents a distribution amplifier's input, outputs, and fixed Crosspoints in the hi Topology. It does not establish a network-control or parameter-control connection to a third-party device.
Network Requirements
-
No network connection, device address, Port, authentication, or firewall rule is required by this template.
Operator Workflow
-
UI Surface in hi: Inventory, Topology, and routing workflows
-
Layers Controlled: Static signal representation
-
Routing Semantics: The template creates fixed Crosspoints from each input to its own group of outputs.

Input Count |
Number of video inputs, in the Port Settings group. Set when you create the Node. |

Split Count |
Number of outputs for each input, in the Port Settings group. Set when you create the Node. hi creates Input Count multiplied by Split Count outputs. |

Device-Side Setup
-
Configure the physical distribution amplifier separately using its vendor tools.
-
Add the static template in hi and set Input Count and Split Count.
-
Verify that the expected Ports and fixed Crosspoints appear in the Topology.

Configurable Endpoints |

Define signal endpoints represented by the template. |

Static Crosspoints |
Model-only |
Represent fixed distribution relationships in the hi Topology; no external device control occurs. |
Device Coverage
This generic template models a configurable distribution-amplifier topology. It does not make a product-specific compatibility claim.
Known Limitations
-
The template represents fixed distribution relationships in hi's Topology; it does not communicate with a physical distribution amplifier.
-
hi applies Input Count and Split Count only when it creates the Node. To change the Port layout, create the Node again.
-
hi names inputs
In 1,In 2, and so on, and names outputs by input and output position, asOut 1-1toOut 1-4for the first input with the default Split Count. -
Each input feeds only its own group of outputs. The template cannot model one input feeding outputs from another group.
What's Not Supported
-
This static template does not monitor or control the physical distribution amplifier. It also does not provide live device discovery, monitoring, Parameter Control, or device management.
