STAGE™

Server Hardware Requirements

STAGE is installed using the Riedel Software Manager, which will install a set of software packages (Suite and Node files) on one or more servers.

Both physical servers and virtual machines are supported for the installation of STAGE.

Server Operating System

STAGE can be deployed on the following server operating system:

System requirements for the host machine(s)

The CPU and RAM requirements shown below set the minimum server capacities to be reserved to run the application.

For all systems, the host requires a minimum of 6 physical CPU cores with a total of 32 GHz clock frequency, 40 GB of Disk Space and 24 GB of RAM. If cores with a lower clock frequency are used, for example, virtual machine CPUs with 2.5 GHz clock frequency, then more cores will be needed to obtain a total of 32 GHz clock frequency.

The host CPU must support the SSE4.2 instruction set, which is the case for most x86 or x64 CPU types. When deploying to virtual machines, make sure to not simulate a legacy CPU without this instruction set.

If you are using a virtual host using a virtual machine, make sure, that other applications on that host don't consume these requirements.

Host HDD Storage Device Requirements

  • The disk type must be an SSD capable of 100,000 4k IOPS read/write or faster.

  • The disk must be formatted with a single system partition. The HDD requirements shown below set the minimum amount of storage space to be made available on that partition to run the application.

At least one network interface is required. For redundancy, two network interfaces are required; each interface being connected to separate network switches. See chapter Network Considerations.

WebRTC Gateway Server Requirements

The WebRTC gateway server is a Debian Linux server which connects to the Artist-1024 device via ST-2110 IP network connections and provides conversion from Artist-1024 streams to OPUS encoded WebRTC streams.

When selecting the hardware for the servers, the planned user capacity must be taken into account:
