Hardware Cleaning and Maintenance

Use these instructions for routine external care of hiPush, hiDot, and hiContact Hardware Panels. For model-specific installation, power, and commissioning information, see Hardware Installation and Commissioning.

Cleaning

  1. Disconnect the panel from power before cleaning. For an externally powered model, switch off and unplug its power supply. For a PoE-powered model, disconnect its Ethernet cable or disable PoE at the switch.

  2. Wipe the enclosure and controls with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Do not spray or pour liquid onto the panel, and do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, or aerosol products.

  3. Keep liquid away from displays, buttons, ventilation openings, and connectors. Before reconnecting the panel, check that the enclosure and connectors are dry and that cables are undamaged.

Routine Maintenance

  • Periodically check the enclosure, controls, displays, connectors, and cables for visible damage or contamination. Do not use equipment with damaged cables or connectors.

  • Keep the panels indoors and dry. The panels have IP20 protection and are not designed for exposure to water or cleaning fluids.

  • If a panel is damaged, has been exposed to liquid, or does not operate as expected, disconnect it from power and contact Riedel Customer Success for service guidance. This guide covers external care only. Repairs and internal servicing require specialist assistance.

For end-of-life disposal instructions, see the disposal guidance in Hardware Installation and Commissioning.
