STAGETEC Audio Console Integration Configuration

STAGETEC Audio Console Integration Configuration

Caution

Compatibility Note: This information is a general guide and may be incomplete, may not match a specific project implementation, and is subject to change as supported products and versions evolve. Confirm the exact implementation and requirements for each project with Riedel and the relevant equipment vendor, then validate the required functions end to end in the target environment before deployment.

Configuration Overview

A STAGETEC system connects to hi as one Node through the Ember+ provider of its XACI board. The Node has two capabilities on the same address and Port: Crosspoint Management for the audio matrix at the Audio/Matrix node, and Parameter Control for the Ember+ tree.

XACI Routing and Parameters

The audio matrix at Audio/Matrix as Sources, Destinations, and Crosspoints, and the parameters that you pin on the Node.

hi must route STAGETEC audio signals, or monitor and change STAGETEC parameters through XACI.

Caution

STAGETEC documents Port 9003 for the XACI board and Port 9000 for products that provide Ember+ directly, such as AVATUS and NEXUS compact. hi defaults to 9003. This page documents only the XACI provider.

Before You Begin

  • Use Node admin and open Inventory > Nodes. See Manage Nodes.

  • Confirm the license and minimum hi version in Required Configuration.

  • Confirm that the NEXUS system has an XACI board installed. STAGETEC specifies and implements the XACI requirements when the NEXUS system is designed, and the board needs no further configuration or license for Ember+ control.

  • Confirm the network access in Network Requirements.

Configure XACI Routing and Parameters

Device Configuration

  1. Confirm that the XACI board is installed for the STAGETEC system. Ember+ control through XACI is a default feature of the board. It provides Ember+ control of NEXUS and its label interface without additional configuration, installation, or an Ember+ license fee.

  2. Set a static IP address for the XACI board in the NEXUS service program: select Configuration > Ethernet Configuration, double-click the XACI board, enter its TCP/IP settings in the Ethernet Settings window, and select UPLOAD in the Ethernet Configuration window to send the settings to the board.

  3. Record the address of the XACI board and its Ember+ Port. STAGETEC documents Port 9003 for the XACI board by default. Ensure that the hi server can reach the XACI interface.

hi Configuration

  1. Add the Audio Console integration (manufacturer STAGETEC) in Inventory.

  2. Enter the XACI address and the Ember+ Port for the Crosspoint Management capability and for the Parameter Control capability. hi defaults both to 9003.

  3. Create the Node and wait for hi to read the audio matrix.

  4. Browse the parameter tree of the Node and pin the parameters that your workflow needs. See Parameter Control Nodes.

  5. After the Node is created, use Reinitialize Router in the Operations group when hi must read the matrix again.

Common Checks

Symptom

Check

The Node does not connect.

Confirm the XACI address and Port, and that the XACI board answers keep-alive requests within 10 seconds.

The Node connects, but no Sources or Destinations appear.

Confirm that the provider publishes the audio matrix at the Audio/Matrix node.

A parameter value does not update in hi.

Confirm that the parameter is pinned on the Node.

Verify the Configuration

Confirm that the expected matrix, parameters, and labels appear in hi. Route a noncritical Destination from hi and confirm that the Crosspoint returns to hi. Change a pinned, noncritical parameter from hi and from the STAGETEC tooling, and confirm that each new value appears on the other side.
