The System Commissioning consists of the following views:
-
Registration This view allows registering hosts such as WebRTC Gateway servers, NMOS and Artist-1024 devices that have been discovered on the network to make the device’s resources available for use within STAGE. This workflow includes: Creation of main and sub-locations that represents where equipment is physically located. Assignment of Discovered Hosts to their locations.
-
Configuration This view allows setting the configuration parameters of each registered host.
-
I/O Management I/O Management consist in the mapping of Hardware Devices to Virtual Devices. Hardware Devices represent the I/O Structure of a registered Host. Virtual Devices are used to represent elements of the real world (e.g. Mono Microphone) that are not directly visible to STAGE.
System Commissioning is normally done during STAGE deployment.
SAME DSP
For SAME DSP, the goal of System Commissioning is to associate hardware audio inputs and outputs to virtual devices in STAGE that represent this hardware, using the following sequence.
-
Configure the SAME DSP Engine(s). Also et the DSP Volume(s) to make available in STAGE.
-
Registration: Create Registered Hosts from discovered NMOS devices. Create unmanaged hosts for non-NMOS audio interface devices.
-
I/O Management: Map Virtual Device inputs and outputs to the Registered Hosts' Inputs and Outputs. Once created, these Virtual Devices are available for use in Jobs.
-
Job Setup: Create the collection of resources required for a production or a live event.
-
Job Adoption: Define where a Job will run.
-
Job Activation: Launch a production.
Virtual SmartPanel
For Virtual SmartPanel, the goal of System Commissioning is to associate WebRTC Gateway Servers and Artist-1024 devices to make them available in Virtual SmartPanel Management.
