Universal Input port
The universal Input of the NSA-004A, NSA-006A and NSA-007A combines an analog and a digital input. In auto mode it recognizes whether a digital or an analog signal is connected and switches the configuration accordingly.

-
The analog pre-amp with high dynamic range can handle low sensitivity dynamic microphones as well as high line levels.
-
In Auto mode, phantom power (48 VDC, 10 mA) is automatically activated when a condenser microphone is detected.
-
The analog input for line level works with an input level of max. +24 dBu.
-
The user can select between various common reference levels.
-
A limiter protects the input once the input voltage reaches a level of 2.7 Vpp.
-
In digital mode a Sample Rate Converter is integrated for AES3 Signals.
Univeral Output port
The universal output of the NSA-005A, NSA-006A and NSA-007A combines an analog and a digital output which is user selectable. The operating mode must be set via the Audio I/O web interface.

-
The analog output is trafo-symmetrical and supports balanced and unbalanced connections.
-
The output is short circuit protected.
-
User can select between various common reference levels that changes output analog gain for the best possible signal to noise ratio at all settings.
-
The analog output has an output level of max. +24.1 dBu.
-
For the trafo-isolated AES3 output the sample rate corresponds to the system clock.
-
For unbalanced connections, either the + or the - can be connected to GND.
GPI port
The GPI port of the NSA-003A, NSA-006A and NSA-007A provides 3 individual isolated general purpose inputs and a current limited auxiliary output voltage on a robust D-Sub connector.

-
The input voltage range of the GPI inputs is +5 to +48 VDC (~5 mA constant current limit).
-
The input voltage must not exceed 51 VDC.
-
The polarity of the inputs is important. The higher potential must be connected to “P”.
-
The inputs are galvanically isolated.
-
The switching thresholds are 2.5 VDC max. for the OFF state and 3.5 VDC min. for the ON state.
-
The maximum current of the two "GPIO +5V" auxiliary output voltages (GPI and GPO port) together is 50 mA (protected by self-resetting fuse).
GPO port
The GPO port of the NSA-003A, NSA-006A and NSA-007A provides 3 individual isolated multi-purpose outputs and a current limited auxiliary output voltage on a robust D-Sub connector.

The maximum GPO output contact rating is 300 mA, 48 VDC (protected by self-resetting fuse).
-
The polarity of the output has no preference.
-
The outputs are galvanically isolated.

The maximum current of the two "GPIO +5V" auxiliary output voltages (GPI and GPO port) together is 50 mA (protected by self-resetting fuse).
USB Type-C port
The USB-C port (USB 2.0) of the NSA-003A, NSA-004A, NSA-005A, NSA-006A and NSA-007A functions as device mode (future option: host mode). The device is compatible with the USB audio specification with two input and two output channels.
The USB 2.0 port can supply connected devices with a limited current of max. 500 mA.
Ethernet Management port
All NSA types allow the user to set up out-of-band control via the 10/100/1000Base-T management port (MGNT), e.g. if a separate network is required for control.

Ethernet Media / PoE ports
All NSA types offer two Gigabit media ports on rugged Neutrik etherCON connections, which are also used to supply the device via PoE+. The media ports can be configured individually or as a daisy chain.
