Riedel 1200 Series SmartPanel Integration Configuration
Caution
Compatibility Note: This information is a general guide and may be incomplete, may not match a specific project implementation, and is subject to change as supported products and versions evolve. Confirm the exact implementation and requirements for each project with Riedel and the relevant equipment vendor, then validate the required functions end to end in the target environment before deployment.
Configuration Overview
A SmartPanel connects to hi through its NMOS interface. Enable the Control Panel App and the NMOS interface on the panel, then add the panel in hi.
Before You Begin
-
Use Node admin and open Inventory > Nodes. See Manage Nodes.
-
Confirm the license and session capacity in Required Configuration.
-
Open the web interface of the SmartPanel with an account that can change its settings.
-
Confirm the network access in Network Requirements.
-
Confirm that the Control Panel App is licensed and activated on the panel.
-
Identify which of the panel's Ethernet interfaces carries NMOS traffic. The panel has four Ethernet connections for management and NMOS, and you select the one used for NMOS. In the Settings menu of the panel, Applications > NMOS Interface selects MEDIA 1, MEDIA 2, or MGNT, and Network holds the network settings of that interface. Make sure hi can reach that interface.
Configure SmartPanel NMOS
Use this configuration to commission a SmartPanel as a hi Hardware Panel.
Device Configuration
-
Connect the SmartPanel to the control network.
-
In the web interface of the SmartPanel, assign the Control Panel App KeyBlocks to key modules. hi needs KeyBlocks 1 and 2, or KeyBlocks 1 to 4.
-
Open CPA and turn on Control Panel App Enable.
-
Open NMOS Settings, set the port to
4450, and enable NMOS versionsv1.2andv1.3. -
Turn on NMOS Enable.
Information
hi 3.0.0 uses the fixed port 4450. Earlier hi releases used port 4490. Set the port on the panel to the value that matches your hi release.
hi Configuration
-
Add the SmartPanel in Inventory and enter its host name or IP address. Do not add a port; hi uses its fixed NMOS Port.
-
Confirm that the Node connects. hi must reach TCP Port
4450and the event endpoints that the panel advertises, and the panel must reach the WebSocket endpoint that the hi deployment configures.

|---|---|
|
The Node does not connect after you change NMOS settings. |
Confirm that NMOS Enable is on, the port matches your hi release, and |
|
The Node connects but keys or displays are missing. |
Confirm that the key modules are assigned in the panel settings and that Control Panel App Enable is on. Available key blocks depend on the panel configuration. |
|
A label appears shortened on the panel. |
Shorten the text. The panel truncates labels to its display limits; see Known Limitations . |
|
The Node reports that no KeyBlocks were found, or that only one was found. |
Confirm that the Control Panel App is licensed and Control Panel App Enable is on, and that at least two KeyBlocks are assigned. |
Verify the Configuration
Press a key on the panel and confirm that hi receives the event. Then change a label or LED in hi and confirm that the panel updates.
