EVS DYVI Series Integration Configuration

EVS DYVI Series Integration Configuration

Caution

Compatibility Note: This information is a general guide and may be incomplete, may not match a specific project implementation, and is subject to change as supported products and versions evolve. Confirm the exact implementation and requirements for each project with Riedel and the relevant equipment vendor, then validate the required functions end to end in the target environment before deployment.

Configuration Overview

DYVI connects to hi through its Ember+ server. hi reads the DYVI Sources and the states of tally systems 1 to 31, and it can write Source names back to DYVI as Dynamic Labels.

Configuration

What hi Sees

Use When

Tally and Labels

The DYVI SDI inputs as Sources, named after their Global Sources, with Tally System 1 to Tally System 31.

hi must show the on-air state of DYVI Sources, or send Source names to DYVI.

Caution

DYVI calculates a tally system only after the Production assigns it to an SDI output or a Multiviewer window. A tally system without an assignment never changes in hi.

Before You Begin

  • Use Node admin and open Inventory > Nodes. See Manage Nodes.

  • Confirm the license and minimum hi version in Required Configuration.

  • Use the DYVI Production setup to assign tally systems and Global Sources.

  • Record the address of the DYVI Main Processing Module and its Ember+ Port, 9000 by default.

  • Confirm the network access in Network Requirements.

Configure Tally and Labels

Device Configuration

  1. Enable the Ember+ server on the Main Processing Module. It listens on the IP address of the Main Processing Module at TCP Port 9000 by default.

  2. Load the Production that hi must follow.

  3. In the Production setup, assign each tally system that hi reads to at least one SDI output or Multiviewer window. Use tally systems 1 to 31. Tally system 32 is not available through Ember+.

  4. Assign a Global Source to each SDI input that hi labels. hi does not write labels to SDI inputs without a Global Source.

hi Configuration

  1. Add the DYVI Series integration (manufacturer EVS Broadcast Equipment) in Inventory.

  2. Enter the address of the Main Processing Module and the Ember+ Port. hi defaults to 9000. If DYVI uses a different Port, enter that Port.

  3. Create the Node and wait for hi to read the Ember+ tree.

  4. Open the Tallies tab and map each DYVI tally system, for example Tally System 1, to a hi Tally. See Manage Tally.

  5. To send Source names to DYVI, complete the Dynamic Labels tab. See Dynamic Label Setup.

Common Checks

Symptom

Check

The Node does not connect.

Confirm the address of the Main Processing Module and that the Ember+ Port is reachable.

A tally system never changes.

Confirm that the Production assigns the tally system to an SDI output or Multiviewer window, and that it is mapped on the Tallies tab.

A label from hi does not appear on DYVI.

Confirm that the SDI input has a Global Source, and that the Dynamic Label entry is active.

Labels from hi are gone after a Production change.

DYVI keeps Ember+ labels only until a new Production is loaded. hi reads the tree again after the change.

Verify the Configuration

Take a Source to air on DYVI and confirm that the mapped hi Tally follows. When Dynamic Labels are active, change a label in hi and confirm that the Source name updates on DYVI.
