Riedel hiPush Series Integration Configuration

Riedel hiPush Series Integration Configuration

Caution

Compatibility Note: This information is a general guide and may be incomplete, may not match a specific project implementation, and is subject to change as supported products and versions evolve. Confirm the exact implementation and requirements for each project with Riedel and the relevant equipment vendor, then validate the required functions end to end in the target environment before deployment.

Configuration Overview

A hiPush panel connects to hi; hi does not connect to the panel. The panel needs the address of the hi server, and the hi Node needs the IP address of the panel. hi uses the panel's source IP address to match the connection to the Node.

Caution

Use a fixed IP address on each panel. When the panel address changes, the panel no longer matches its Node and hi does not register it.

Before You Begin

  • Use Node admin and open Inventory > Nodes. See Manage Nodes.

  • Confirm the license and the hiUser session for each panel in Required Configuration.

  • Use a workstation with a web browser on the same subnet as the panel for the device-side steps.

  • Confirm the network access in Network Requirements.

Configure hiPush Registration

Use this configuration for every hiPush product.

Device Configuration

  1. Install and power the panel as described in Hardware Installation and Commissioning.

  2. Read the current IP address and Port from the panel. hiPush panels show the value across their buttons as the address followed by the Port 5015.

  3. Commission one unconfigured panel at a time, because factory-configured panels can share the same default address.

  4. Open the panel web interface, and follow Hardware Network Configuration. Enter the IP address of the hi server, set the panel's own production IP address, and apply the changes.

  5. Record the production IP address of the panel.

hi Configuration

  1. Add the hiPush Series integration (manufacturer hi human interface) in Inventory.

  2. Enter the production IP address of the panel. The template has no other settings.

  3. Create the Node, and keep it enabled.

  4. Assign the panel layout and the Presets that the operators need.

Common Checks

Symptom

Check

The panel does not register.

Confirm that the IP address of the Node matches the panel's own address and that the Node is enabled. Confirm the hi server address in the panel web interface.

The panel cannot be found on its default address.

Confirm that the workstation is on the same subnet and that no firewall blocks Port 5015. Power-cycle the panel to show its current address again.

The panel shows a layout from a different Node.

Confirm that no other enabled Node uses the same IP address. hi uses only the first matching Node.

Verify the Configuration

Confirm that the Node shows as connected and that the panel shows its layout. Press one button that has a noncritical assignment, and confirm that hi performs the action and that the button display or LED updates.
