The Admin area controls which email identities can access the current Customer Account and which Account Users can administer access, reassign Flex Options, or receive Device Identity Lease expiration warnings.
Access Requirement
Only Account Users with Authorize Admin: Yes can open the Admin area. Restrict this permission to named Customer Account access owners.
Administrative Responsibilities
An Account Administrator should:
-
Confirm the Account User’s email address before adding it.
-
Grant Admin and Flex independently according to job responsibility.
-
Ensure at least one actively monitored recipient receives Device Identity Lease expiration warnings when Offline Licensing is used.
-
Review Account Users periodically.
-
Contact Riedel Customer Success when access must be removed and no removal control is available.
Main Procedure
Use Manage Account Users to review, add, view, and edit Account Users.
Permission Summary
|
Access or Setting |
How It Is Assigned |
What It Allows |
|---|---|---|
|
Account User Access |
Riedel provisions the initial Account User, or an existing Account Administrator selects Admin > Add and saves the email identity. The Account User then completes First-Time Registration. |
Sign in, view the current Customer Account, review Devices and licensing information, download available License Files, review Device Groups, and review Flex assignments. |
|
Authorize Admin |
An existing Account Administrator adds or edits the Account User and sets Authorize Admin to Yes. |
Open Admin; add, edit, and remove other Account Users; assign permissions and warning email; create, edit, delete, assign, and unassign Device Groups; and perform Flex operations. |
|
Authorize Flex |
An existing Account Administrator adds or edits the Account User and sets Authorize Flex to Yes. |
Assign and unassign Flex Options, download an Unassignment License, confirm an unassignment, and cancel a pending unassignment without granting Account User or Device Group administration. |
|
Send Identity Lease Expiration Warning Email |
An existing Account Administrator adds or edits the Account User and sets the value as required. |
Receive email when a Device Identity Lease is approaching expiration. This is a notification setting, not a permission. |
Authorize Admin and Authorize Flex are independent settings, but Authorize Admin also permits Flex operations. An Account Administrator therefore does not require Authorize Flex to perform those operations.
An Account Administrator cannot remove their own Authorize Admin permission or delete their own Account User record. Another Account Administrator must perform that change.
Portal and Product Roles
Authorize Admin and Authorize Flex apply only to the current Customer Account in the Portal. They do not change permissions or licensing configuration in the Licensed Product.
When a workflow crosses from the Portal into a Licensed Product, confirm both sets of permissions independently.
For any missing permission, inaccessible Customer Account, or other access issue, contact Riedel Customer Success.
