Portal Fields and Controls

Use this reference to understand the purpose of common Portal fields and controls. Text identified as Portal help is shown exactly as it appears in the interface.

First-Time Registration

Email Address

Portal help: “Email address that can be used to contact you.” Use an address that can receive the verification code.

Sends a one-time code to the entered email address.

Verification Code

Enter the code received by email and select Verify code when displayed.

First-Time Registration

New Password

Portal help: “Enter new password.” Sets the Portal password after verification.

Confirm New Password

Portal help: “Confirm new password.” Enter the same value as New Password.

First-Time Registration

Create

Creates the Portal credentials after verification and valid password entry.

Password Reset

Continue

Continues after email verification is complete.

Home

Opens the Portal Home Page.

Devices

Opens the Device inventory for the current Customer Account.

Device Groups

Opens Device Group management for the current Customer Account.

Flex

Opens Account Entitled Flex Options. Assignment operations require Authorize Admin or Authorize Flex.

Admin

Opens Account User management when the Account User has Authorize Admin.

Account Selector

When more than one Customer Account is available, changes the current Customer Account. It does not transfer Devices or entitlements.

Sign out

Ends the Portal session.


Device List

Component

Guidance

Column Filter… fields

Filter rows using the value entered for the corresponding column.

Clear filters

Removes all active filters from the table.

View

Opens the selected Device record.

Download All Licenses

Downloads the available License Files for the current Customer Account. Portal help: “Some licenses might be missing depending on the state of each device. Multiple orders / accounts can contribute to a device’s state. Please review the state of each device individually and the content of the generated zip file.”

Rename

Opens the Rename Device form.

Change Device Group

Opens the Device Group selector.

Manual Device Identity Lease Request

Request area used for the standard manual Device Identity Lease exchange. Match the Customer Account, Device, and Serial Number before selecting a file.

Manual Host Signature Request

Separate request area used only when the Licensed Product procedure explicitly requires a Host Signature Request.

File / Choose File

Opens the local file picker for Manual Device Identity Lease Request and shows No file chosen until a file is selected.

Request File / Choose File

Opens the local file picker within Manual Host Signature Request.

Upload

Submits the selected Request File to the current Device and request area. A successful Manual Device Identity Lease upload returns to the Device Page; the Confirmation File must then be downloaded separately.

Table Filter… fields

Filter Ordered Options, Resolved Options, or License Files by the corresponding column.

Clear filters

Removes all active filters from the current table.

Download Manual Identity Lease Confirmation

Downloads the .ilc Confirmation File after the Portal accepts a Manual Device Identity Lease Request.

Create License File

Generates a current License File when the Portal reports that the existing file is missing or outdated and generation is available.

Download License File

Downloads a License File for the current Device.

License File View

Opens License File metadata.

Confirm Activation

Opens the form used to record Product-Side activation of the displayed License File.

Activation Confirmation Code

Enter the code produced by the Licensed Product for the exact License File being confirmed.

Device Name

Portal help: “Name given to the device by the customer.” Do not enter sensitive information.

Virtual Device

Portal help: “For physical devices, the identity is validated using the serial number. For virtual devices, host signatures or identity lease is needed.”

Resolved Option Trial Duration

Portal help: “Number of trial days.”

License File File Size (B)

Portal help: “The total size of the file. Can help telling if the download completed correctly.”

License File CRC32

Portal help: “A checksum that can help determine if the file has been downloaded without corruption.”

License File Activation Confirmed

Portal help: “Tells if a confirmation that the license file has been activated on the device was received. The confirmation is automatic if the device is online. Otherwise it can be done manually by entering the activation confirmation code on the license file detailed view.”


Device Naming and Groups

Component

Guidance

New Name

Enter an operational label that can be viewed by Riedel Customer Success and contains no sensitive information.

New Device Group

Select a Device Group from the active Customer Account.

Change Device Group

Portal help: “This will change the group in which the device is. It is used for billing grouping and authorizations.” Requires Authorize Admin for the current Customer Account.

Add

Opens the New Device Group form.

Device Groups

Portal help: “The list of device groups defined for this account by the user (or for him).” Device Groups are customer-defined organizational records for the current Customer Account.

Group Name

Enter the required Device Group name.

Group Description

Optionally describe the Device Group’s purpose.

Edit Group Assignments

Portal help: “Change to which group each device belongs.” Requires Authorize Admin.

Edit

Opens the selected Device Group for changes. Requires Authorize Admin.

Delete

Deletes the selected Device Group when deletion is available. Requires Authorize Admin.

Cancel

Leaves the form without applying changes.

Save

Applies the entered values after review.


Flex

Component

Guidance

Account Entitled Flex Options

Lists Flex assignments entitled to the current Customer Account. All Account Users can review this information.

Assigned Device

Device currently receiving the Flex Option, or the compatible destination selected during assignment.

Status

Displays Assigned, Unassigned, or Unassignment Requested for a Flex assignment.

Flex Unassignment Requested

Portal help: “Flex Unassignment Requested”. When shown, complete or cancel the pending unassignment before assigning the Flex Option elsewhere.

Assign Flex

Opens the destination Device selector. Requires Authorize Admin or Authorize Flex.

Unassign Flex

Starts the controlled removal of the Flex Option from its current Device. It does not immediately release the Option.

Download Unassignment License

Downloads the License File that must be applied to the currently assigned Device before confirmation.

Confirm Unassignment

Opens the confirmation form after the Unassignment License has been applied.

License File Activation Confirmation Code

Enter the code produced by the currently assigned Device after it applies the Unassignment License.

Cancel Unassign Flex

Cancels a pending unassignment before confirmation and keeps the Option assigned to the current Device.


Administration

Component

Guidance

Account Users

Portal help: “The list of users authorized to access the account via the customer portal.”

User Email

Enter the Portal identity to associate with the current Customer Account. Confirm spelling and mailbox ownership.

Authorize Admin

Portal help: “Allow managing account users and other account settings.” This grants Customer Account User Administration, Device Group changes, and Flex operations. It controls Portal access for the current Customer Account only; it does not change permissions or licensing configuration in the Licensed Product.

Authorize Flex

Portal help: “Allow managing Flex options assignments.” This grants Flex operations without Account User or Device Group administration.

Send Identity Lease Expiration Warning Email

Portal help: “Send an email to the user when their device identity lease is about to expire.” This is a notification setting, not a permission.

Add

Opens the New Account User form.

View

Opens the selected Account User record.

Edit

Opens the Account User permission form.

Delete

Removes another Account User from the Customer Account. An Account Administrator cannot delete their own record.

For any missing permission, inaccessible Customer Account, unavailable control, or other access issue, contact Riedel Customer Success.


Portal Messages

Message

Guidance

There is no device group in this account.

Create a Device Group before assigning one to a Device.

There are no entitled flex options for this account.

Confirm the current Customer Account and its Flex entitlements.

Identity lease will expire soon.

Open the Device and plan renewal before Expiration Date/Time.

Identity lease is expired.

Complete the applicable Online or Offline Renewal workflow for the Device.

Device identity lease request accepted.

Download the .ilc file separately through Download Manual Identity Lease Confirmation, then import it into the same Licensed Product.

Device host signatures request accepted. You may download a new license file to use it.

Create or download the current License File, apply it to the same Licensed Product, and confirm activation when required.

Group assignments updated.

The reviewed Device Group assignment changes were saved.

No license file activation to confirm. Download the new license file first.

Download and apply the Unassignment License before confirming a Flex unassignment.

The license file is not up to date. Download the new license file first.

Download and apply the current Unassignment License before confirming a Flex unassignment.
