Caution

Compatibility Note: This information is a general guide and may be incomplete, may not match a specific project implementation, and is subject to change as supported products and versions evolve. Confirm the exact implementation and requirements for each project with Riedel and the relevant equipment vendor, then validate the required functions end to end in the target environment before deployment.

Minimum hi Version: v2.6.1

Overview

The Imagine Communications® LRC Plus integration exposes router Sources, Destinations, state, and Crosspoint operations to hi routing workflows.

Network Requirements

  • Allow outbound TCP from hi to the LRC Plus controller on Port 52117 by default.

  • No callback or inbound connection to hi is used.

  • Keep the plaintext control connection on a trusted management network.

Operator Workflow

  • UI Surface in hi: Routing Matrix, Inventory, and Hardware Panel workflows

  • Layers Controlled: Router levels exposed by the configured LRC Plus endpoint

  • Routing Semantics: The configured router Sources and Destinations appear in hi routing workflows.

  • Tally / UMD Relationship: Not a Tally device by default.

  • Notes for Operators Familiar with the Vendor's Own Tooling: Use vendor tooling for engineering setup; use hi for operator routing workflows.

Supported Features

Feature

Access

Exposed Operation and Scope

Crosspoint Routing

Read/write

Execute Source-to-Destination assignments and read state exposed by the configured endpoint.

Router State

Read-only updates

Read and synchronize state exposed by the configured endpoint.

Level/Channel Mapping

Read-only

Read the levels and channels exposed by the configured LRC Plus endpoint.

Database Change Notifications

Read-only updates

When the server reports a change to the logical database, reinitialize and reload the levels, names, and Crosspoints.

Port Container Generation

Read-only

With Follow changes set to Yes, create one Port Container for each logical Source and Destination from its channels, and remove Port Containers whose Source or Destination the router no longer reports.

Device Coverage

Potentially Compatible (Not Yet Verified) identifies compatibility candidates that use the same protocol or connection method. Device-specific configuration, firmware, and feature support can affect results.

Potentially Compatible (Not Yet Verified)

  • Imagine Communications routing systems that expose the supported LRC Plus control surface.

Known Limitations

  • Validate the levels, channel mapping, labels, and routing with the installed firmware during commissioning.

  • A Magellan SDNO controller serves LRC on Port 52116 and LRC Plus on Port 52117 by default. A translation database is available only on the router Port assigned to it, and each Port carries one translation. Point hi at the Port of the database that hi must use.

  • A Level Mapping translation with Single Level External Mapping presents the whole SDNO database on one level, named SDNO with level ID 1 by default. When a logical Source is in breakaway, the controller reports the status of the highest-priority SDNO level that has a status. hi shows only that status. Use All Levels one to one mapping when hi must show each level.

  • Like LRC, the interface is event-driven. Do not poll the router control system continuously.

  • hi connects to one controller address and does not fail over to a second controller.

  • During synchronization, hi waits up to 5 seconds for each group of replies. When the Crosspoint replies are not complete in that time, hi continues with the Crosspoints that arrived.

  • hi adds one Breakaway Source for each channel that the router reports.

What's Not Supported

  • Router engineering configuration, naming, redundancy, and firmware management; use the vendor's native tools.

  • Crosspoint error status (XPOINTERR), which only Magellan SDNO provides.

  • Salvos, Destination locks and protection, presets, and the XDISCONNECT command. hi disconnects a Destination by routing Source 0 to it.
