Panasonic PTZ Series Integration Configuration
Caution
Compatibility Note: This information is a general guide and may be incomplete, may not match a specific project implementation, and is subject to change as supported products and versions evolve. Confirm the exact implementation and requirements for each project with Riedel and the relevant equipment vendor, then validate the required functions end to end in the target environment before deployment.
Configuration Overview
Each Panasonic PTZ camera is one Node in hi. hi sends commands to the camera over HTTP, and asks the camera to send update notifications to a TCP Port on hi.

hi must control a Panasonic PTZ camera through the AW Protocol. |
Before You Begin
-
Use Node admin and open Inventory > Nodes. See Manage Nodes.
-
Confirm the license and minimum hi version in Required Configuration.
-
Confirm the network access in Network Requirements. Both directions are required: HTTP from hi to the camera, and TCP from the camera to hi.
-
hi does not send camera credentials. Keep the camera on a control network.
Configure Panasonic PTZ Camera
Device Configuration
-
Connect the camera to the network. Open the camera's web interface, and record the camera IP address and the HTTP Port. The AW Protocol uses Port
80by default. If the camera uses another HTTP Port, enter that Port in hi. -
Set User auth. to
Off, the factory setting. With User auth. On, the camera requires an ID and password for camera control, and hi does not send credentials. On the AW-UE150, the setting is on the User auth. screen under User mng. in the web setup screen. -
Confirm that the camera can open a TCP connection to the hi server on the update-notification Port.
hi Configuration
-
Add the PTZ Series integration (manufacturer Panasonic) in Inventory.
-
Enter the camera address and the Port. hi defaults to
80. -
Set Update notification reception to the TCP Port on hi that receives the camera updates. The default is
31000, and the permitted values are31000to31999. This setting is available when you create the Node and afterward. -
Create the Node. hi subscribes to camera updates with the configured Port, then queries the camera's registered update-session count 10 seconds after connecting and every 30 seconds after that. This count does not identify hi's own registration; verify update delivery as described below.

Common Checks

Symptom |
Check |
|---|---|
|
The Node does not connect. |
Confirm the camera address and HTTP Port, that User auth. is |
|
Control works, but values do not update in hi. |
Confirm that the camera can reach the hi server on the Update notification reception Port. A firewall or NAT rule can block updates while control still works. |
|
The Node becomes disconnected after it connected. |
hi received a zero registered update-session count or its session-count query failed. Confirm that the camera did not restart, that HTTP requests succeed, and that the update Port is reachable. Verify callback delivery separately, because other registered terminals can keep the count nonzero. |
|
A Parameter is rejected. |
Confirm that the camera model and firmware implement it. |
Verify the Configuration
Change zoom, focus, or a Preset from hi, and confirm that the camera responds. Then change the same value with the camera's own controller or web interface, and confirm that hi shows the new value. This confirms that update notifications reach hi.
