Sony RCP-3500 Integration Configuration

Sony RCP-3500 Integration Configuration

Caution

Compatibility Note: This information is a general guide and may be incomplete, may not match a specific project implementation, and is subject to change as supported products and versions evolve. Confirm the exact implementation and requirements for each project with Riedel and the relevant equipment vendor, then validate the required functions end to end in the target environment before deployment.

Configuration Overview

The RCP-3500 Node opens one Ember+ connection for Parameters. It defaults to TCP Port 9000.

Ember+ Parameters

The Parameters that the RCP-3500 Ember+ tree exposes, under the Node in Inventory. No signal Ports or Crosspoints.

hi must monitor or control RCP-3500 Parameters.

Caution

Confirm with Sony how to enable Ember+ on the RCP-3500 and which Port it uses before commissioning.

Before You Begin

  • Use Node admin and open Inventory > Nodes. See Manage Nodes.

  • Confirm the license and minimum hi version in Required Configuration.

  • Get access to the RCP-3500 configuration and the current Sony documentation for its Ember+ interface.

  • Confirm the network access in Network Requirements.

Configure Ember+ Parameters

Use this configuration for every RCP-3500 Node.

Device Configuration

  1. Confirm with Sony how to enable the Ember+ provider on the RCP-3500, whether it needs a software option, and which TCP Port it listens on.

hi Configuration

  1. Add the Sony RCP-3500 integration in Inventory > Nodes.

  2. Enter the RCP-3500 management address.

  3. Set the Port of the Ember+ Parameter connection to the Port that Sony confirms. The default is 9000.

  4. Create the Node. The template has no creation settings, so add one Node for each RCP-3500.

hi reads the Ember+ tree after the connection is established, and lists the exposed Parameters.

Common Checks

Symptom

Check

Parameters are missing.

Confirm that the RCP Ember+ service is enabled and that its TCP Port is reachable from hi.

The connection drops repeatedly.

Confirm that the provider answers Ember+ keep-alive requests. hi sends one every 5 seconds and disconnects when no answer arrives within 10 seconds.

Verify the Configuration

Open the Node in Inventory and read one Parameter. Confirm that it matches the value on the RCP-3500 before you write a Parameter from hi.
