1200 series SmartPanel firmware now supports the all new Commentary Control App (CCA) and Commentary Headset Adapter hardware. The CCA enables a commentary user interface for one or two commentators on the DSP-1216HL. One commentator mode includes double-width on-air and mute keys, 8 intercom keys and up to 4 auxiliary audio sources (mono or stereo). Two commentator mode includes on-air and mute keys for each commentator, 4 intercom keys and 4 auxiliary audio sources (mono or stereo). Native Artist-1024 integration and live control via SmartPanel Web Interface. The Commentary Headset Adapter allows for connecting headsets with XLR3M and 6.35 mm connectors to the DSP-1216HL.

The Audio Monitoring App can now be completely configured from the SmartPanel’s Web Interface. The monitoring output can now be routed to external speakers via the SmartPanel’s I/O matrix. The Audio Monitoring App can now run standalone without an Artist connection or Intercom license.

The 1200 series Web Interface now contains a tab that allows users to monitor all analog audio inputs and outputs of the SmartPanel. Adjustment of parameters is also possible when the SmartPanel is not connected to the Artist Matrix, otherwise this is done via the AudioPatch in Director.

The 1200 series Web Interface now contains a tab that allows users to monitor and test the GPIOs of the SmartPanel. When using the Commentary Control App, GPIOs 1 and 2 can be configured here independent from Artist.

The 1200 series now support Network Time Protocol to set the SmartPanels system time.

The Speaker Mute function can be disabled on 1200 SmartPanels. When disabled, pressing the loudspeaker rotary (large red knob) has no effect. Separately, the Microphone Mute function can also be disabled on 1200 SmartPanels. When disabled, pressing the sidetone/microphone rotary (small red knob) has no effect. This is done via Director when the SmartPanel is connected to Artist-1024.
