Creating Clips from Preview (PVW) in Live Module

In the Live module of SimplyLive Production Suite Flex, you can also create clips directly from the Preview (PVW) channel. This allows you to prepare content without affecting what is currently on air.

Activating Preview Control

To start working from Preview:

  • Activate the PVW panel

  • The panel will highlight, confirming that your control is now assigned to Preview

From here, you can browse the timeline independently from Program.

Creating a Clip from Preview

The workflow is identical to replay clip creation:

  1. Browse the timeline on Preview

  2. Press IN to mark the start point

  3. Press OUT to mark the end point

  4. Press SAVE to create the clip

The clip will be immediately available in the Clips panel.

Using Marks and Live Cue

You can also create cue points while working in Preview:

  • MARK

    • Creates a cue point at your current browsed position

    • Used when navigating recorded content

  • LIVE CUE

    • Creates a cue point directly from the live moment

    • Useful when something important happens while you are browsing

Both types of markers will appear in the Cues panel and can be recalled anytime.

Returning to Live from Preview

At any moment, you can return Preview to real time:

  • Press LIVE while controlling PVW

This brings your Preview channel back to the current live position without affecting Program.

Info

Clips created from Preview behave exactly the same as clips created from replay channels:

  • Stored in the Clips panel

  • Available for immediate playback

  • Can be added to playlists or taken directly to air

Use Case – Live Production Scenario

You are live, and Program is already busy with another element.

  • You use Preview to scroll back

  • Mark IN and OUT

  • Press SAVE

  • Load the clip to Preview again

  • Take it to Program at the right moment

All without touching what is currently on air.

Pro Tip

Preview is your safe workspace.

Use it to prepare clips, test positions, and build content without any risk to the live output.
