A Connected Hardware Panel Shows the Wrong Preset
Diagnosis
Scenario
A Hardware Panel is connected, but does not show the intended Control Panel Preset.
Observed Behavior
The panel is available in hi, but its Sources and Destinations differ from the expected Preset.
Why This Happens
Connection and Preset delegation are separate requirements. The intended Preset must be delegated to the target panel.
Caution
Updating a Preset automatically updates every delegated Hardware Panel. Review the other target panels before changing shared content.
Prerequisites
-
The panel is connected and its identity and intended Preset are known.
-
Delegation changes require Preset admin, User admin, Control Panel access, and the required Tag access. Ask the responsible administrator to perform these changes if your account lacks those roles.
-
Review other panels using the same Preset before changing shared content.
Resolution
-
Operator: Confirm the target panel and intended Preset. If the panel is unavailable, follow A Hardware Panel Does Not Connect.
-
Administrator: Open the intended Preset's Delegate to panels dialog and review the selected panels.
-
If the intended panel is not selected, correct the target selection and select Delegate when the change can proceed.
-
If delegation is already correct, compare the Preset's Sources and Destinations with the expected content before editing it. Remember that a shared Preset change affects every delegated panel.
Verify the Result
Confirm the intended Sources and Destinations on the target panel. If it is unavailable rather than showing different content, use A Hardware Panel Does Not Connect.
