You Are Signed Out During a Session

You Are Signed Out During a Session

Diagnosis

Scenario

You are working in hi and the application returns to the sign-in screen without you signing out.

Observed Behavior

The sign-in screen shows one of these messages:

Title

Message

You have been logged out

"Your session has expired. Please login again."

You have been logged out

"An administrator closed your session. You may try to log in again."

You have been logged out

"Your user was deleted. Please reach out to an administrator for assistance."

Out of user licenses

"All available user licenses are currently in use. Please reach out to an administrator for assistance."

Why This Happens

Each message names the reason the session ended:

  • The session token expired. A countdown banner appears during the final hour.

  • An administrator closed the session.

  • The account was deleted.

  • The browser's live connection started or reconnected, for example after a network interruption, while no user license was available.

Prerequisites

  • Record the title, the message, and the time.

  • Account and session checks require a User admin. Users with User admin or Licensing admin can see current user-license use in the application bar.

  • Check operational use with the session owner before anyone closes another session.

Resolution

  1. User: Record the title, the message, and what you were doing.

  2. For "Your session has expired", sign in again. To avoid an interruption during live work, sign out and back in when the session-expiration banner appears.

  3. For "An administrator closed your session", confirm with the administrator that you may continue before you sign in again.

  4. For "Your user was deleted", do not keep trying to sign in. Ask a User admin to review the account using Manage Users.

  5. For Out of user licenses, ask a User admin or Licensing admin to review active sessions and capacity using the hiUser session rules. If the sign-out followed a connection loss, also follow hi Reports That the Browser Is Offline.

  6. If none of these messages appears, or the sign-out repeats without a matching cause, contact Riedel Customer Success.

Verify the Result

Sign in and confirm that the session stays active. For a capacity sign-out, confirm that the administrator sees available user-license capacity.

See Session Behavior and Sign-In Does Not Complete.

If the issue persists after these checks, contact Riedel Customer Success. Include the observations from this page, the Serial Number or Installation ID, the hi version, and a Backup and log export. See Customer Support.
