An Expected Port Is Missing

An Expected Port Is Missing

Diagnosis

Scenario

You open a Control Panel Preset, but cannot find a required Source or Destination.

Observed Behavior

The Port list is empty or omits a Port that an authorized administrator can see.

Possible Causes

The visible list depends on the current Tag filters, text search, folder navigation, and account access. An AND relation requires every selected Tag; an OR relation requires at least one. A user's access pre-filter can further narrow the available Tag view.

Prerequisites

  • Operator checks require Control Panel access and access to the intended Preset.

  • Account and access changes require a User admin. Keep the affected user account available for comparison.

Resolution

  1. Operator: Confirm the intended Preset and the correct Source or Destination list.

  2. Review the text search and use Reset Filters to remove text filtering. Review selected and excluded Tags, the AND or OR relation, and folder navigation.

  3. If the Port appears, stop here. Clearing filters does not grant additional account access.

  4. If the Port remains absent, ask a User admin to compare visibility for the affected account and review its effective settings, Tag assignments, and access pre-filter using Set a User Access Pre-filter.

  5. User admin: Correct an unintended restriction only when the affected user should have access. Do not broaden access solely to make the Port appear.

Verify the Result

Confirm that the intended Port appears for the affected account while unrelated restricted Ports remain unavailable. You do not need to route a signal to verify visibility.

See Control Panel Port List and Filtering Reference and Access Control.
