A Selected Source Has Not Been Routed
Diagnosis
Scenario
You select a Destination and a Source in a Preset using Take mode.
Observed Behavior
The Take button is available, but the Destination still shows its previous Source.
Why This Happens
In Take mode, selecting the Source stages the connection. The live connection changes only when you select Take. In Direct Take mode, selecting the Source applies the connection immediately. Single Destination Presets also route immediately.
Caution
Do not switch to Direct Take merely to diagnose this symptom. Selecting a Source in that mode changes the live connection immediately.
Prerequisites
-
Use an account with Control Panel access and Tag access to the intended Source and Destination.
-
Confirm that applying the intended connection is operationally safe before selecting Take.
Resolution
-
Operator: Confirm the selected Preset's Take Mode and the intended Source and Destination.
-
In Take mode, review the queued connection. If it is the intended connection and the routing change can proceed, select Take.
-
In Multiselect Mode, if Gang Take is disabled, select the source-display toggle until its tooltip reads Displaying desired sources on selected destination buttons. Review the pending connections before selecting Gang Take.
-
For a Multiviewer Head in Multiselect Mode, if the Gang Take tooltip asks you to switch to the active layout of the Multiviewer Head, select that layout. Do not apply another layout merely to enable routing.
-
If Take is disabled and a lock is shown, follow A Destination Lock Prevents Routing.
-
In Direct Take mode, the selection should already have applied. If the intended route is absent, follow A Route Does Not Appear on the Destination. Do not change Take Mode to bypass the symptom.
Verify the Result
Confirm that the Destination shows the intended Source and that the monitored output matches the intended signal.
