The Version Mismatch Dialog Appears

The Version Mismatch Dialog Appears

Diagnosis

Scenario

You open hi or continue working after the hi server has been updated.

Observed Behavior

hi displays a dialog titled Version mismatch. The dialog states: "Your browser seems to use a different hi version (v[browser version]) than the hi server (v[server version])." It continues: "This probably happened because the server version has changed with an update and the browser uses a version from the cache. Please refresh your browser by hitting CTRL+F5. If this message appears again, please clear your browsers cache manually."

Why This Happens

The browser is running a cached copy of the hi application from a different version than the server. Selecting Ok closes the dialog but does not reload the application, so the versions still differ.

Prerequisites

  • Record both version numbers shown in the dialog.

  • Finish or save any open edit before you reload. Reloading restarts the application in the browser.

  • Clearing the browser cache can require the workstation administrator, depending on the site's browser policy.

Resolution

  1. Operator: Record both versions and the time. If an update is not expected, tell the hi administrator before you continue.

  2. When a reload is safe, reload the page with CTRL+F5. In a browser without this shortcut, use its forced-reload command.

  3. If the dialog appears again, clear the browser cache under the site's browser policy and reload again.

  4. If the dialog still appears, or the server version is not the release you expect, ask the hi administrator to confirm the installed release. Contact Riedel Customer Success with both version numbers if the cause is unclear.

Verify the Result

Reload the application and confirm that the Version mismatch dialog does not appear again.

See Reload Required Alert.

If the issue persists after these checks, contact Riedel Customer Success. Include the observations from this page, the Serial Number or Installation ID, the hi version, and a Backup and log export. See Customer Support.
