A License Warning Remains Unresolved

A License Warning Remains Unresolved

Diagnosis

Scenario

A license warning persists, an expected entitlement is unavailable, or an offline confirmation is rejected.

Observed Behavior

The application displays an activation or identity-lease warning, Licensing reports an invalid state, or an Option remains unavailable after an update.

Possible Causes

The observed state may concern the installation identity, an activation renewal, a particular Option's validity, user-license capacity, an unreachable validation service, or a confirmation that does not match the current request. The banner alone does not identify the underlying cause.

Prerequisites

  • The complete warning or error message and event time.

  • The installation's Serial Number or Installation ID.

  • Licensing admin for the workspace checks; the responsible administrator for network or session checks.

Resolution

  1. Record the complete message. Match it to License Status and Warnings Reference; do not confuse a license warning with a session-expiration message.

  2. Ask a Licensing admin to Review License Status. Confirm the installation identity and record validation fields, the affected Option, dates, and user capacity.

  3. If the validation service is unavailable, ask the responsible administrator to check access to the documented licensing service endpoints. Use the offline request/confirmation procedure when the installation cannot contact the service directly.

  4. If changed entitlements have been provided for an online installation, synchronize the license and compare the resulting quantities and Option states.

  5. If an offline confirmation is rejected, check that it was produced for the current pending request. If the earlier request has been superseded, generate and process a current request. Do not edit request, confirmation, or license files.

  6. If user capacity is exhausted, new sign-ins by other users are rejected with All available user licenses are currently in use. Please reach out to an administrator for assistance. A System administrator can still sign in, in Restricted mode if no license is available (see User Capacity and Restricted Mode). A System administrator can then review active sessions using Manage Users and the hiUser session rules. Check operational use before closing a session or changing a panel.

  7. If the warning remains unexplained, the file is rejected, or the expected state does not return, contact Riedel Customer Success through Customer Support. Include the complete licensing message and affected Option details, and collect the Backup and log export required for support requests.

Warning

A cluster licensing warning, such as This is a multi-node cluster without an 'enable-cluster' license. New device deployments are blocked., does not authorize infrastructure recovery or reconfiguration. Contact Riedel Customer Success before intervention; database integrity and data loss are real risks during a cluster malfunction. Use A Multi-Server Installation Reports a Server or Service Fault for safe diagnostic checks.

Verify the Result

Confirm the relevant identity, capacity, or Option state is correct and the intended licensed workflow operates. Retain the before/after messages if the symptom persists.

A Licensed Feature Remains Unavailable also covers access, deployment, and configuration checks when the feature is absent.
