A New Snapshot Is Empty
Diagnosis
Scenario
You create a named Snapshot in the Snapshots workspace.
Observed Behavior
The Snapshot appears in the list, but its component tabs contain no saved items.
Why This Happens
Workspace creation creates an empty Snapshot. Naming it does not capture connections, parameters, labels, Port Container configurations, or Tag assignments.
Prerequisites
-
Adding saved items requires Snapshot admin and access to the intended Ports. Ask an administrator to perform the changes if your account lacks that role.
-
Capture from the Control Panel also requires Control Panel access and Tag access to the Ports being captured.
-
Identify the existing Snapshot and the component types you intended to save. No live recall is needed to verify capture.
Resolution
-
Snapshot administrator: Open the Snapshot and inspect its component tabs. Naming a Snapshot in the workspace does not populate it.
-
If you intended to save connections, follow Add Destination Ports to a Snapshot.
-
If you intended to save other component types, follow Create a Snapshot from Selected Ports, select the existing Snapshot, and review the component types before selecting Add.
-
Parameters can also be added from the Parameters tab of a Node with Add to Snapshot, and Port Containers from the Port Containers list.
-
If only some expected connections are missing afterward, follow A Snapshot Is Missing Expected Connections.
Verify the Result
Inspect the relevant component tabs and confirm both the saved scope and values before recalling the Snapshot.
