Preset Fields
See the illustrated example of the Preset bar that carries these Presets.
Preset Type: Dynamic or Static. The Select Preset type step of Create new preset offers this choice only when Static Presets are enabled for the installation. A Dynamic Preset filters Ports by Tags. A Static Preset assigns fixed Ports to Hardware Panel buttons; see Edit a Static Preset.
Panel SKU: Required when you create a Static Preset. Selects the Hardware Panel layout that the Static Preset uses.
Preset Name: Visible on the button in the Preset row and on all Hardware Panels carrying this Preset.
Preset Short Name: A compact name (up to 10 characters) used on Hardware Panels where display space is limited. The full Preset Name is still used in the hi web interface.
Show 'disconnect' as source: Displays a dedicated Disconnect Source when enabled. When disabled, the Disconnect Source is hidden in the hi web interface and on Hardware Panels. Dynamic Presets only.
Enable destination locking: Allows Destinations to be locked from this Preset.
Enable parameter control: Displays parameters assigned to Ports on this Preset. The option is unavailable while Enable Widget Area is disabled.
Enable Port Container assignment: Allows the Ports of Port Containers to be assigned from this Preset. When disabled, Port Container Ports cannot be assigned from this Preset.
Enable Widget Area: Displays the Widget Area. Dynamic Presets only.
Show tag filtering area: Displays the Source and Destination Tag filters. It is offered for Dynamic Presets only.
Take Mode: hi supports three different Take Modes. Static Presets support Take and Direct Take only.
|
Mode |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Take |
Select Source and Destination, then select Take to connect. Use for important Destinations. |
|
Direct Take |
Select Destination then Source - hi connects immediately. Use where speed is critical. |
|
Single Destination |
One Destination is preselected and shown read-only. Selecting a Source routes immediately. Use for simple single-monitor panels. |
Disable Port Container pop-up dialog on take.: Appears for Dynamic Presets in Take mode. When enabled, hi connects Port Containers with best effort routing and does not open the Connect Port Containers dialog.
For Single Destination, select the Destination in the Preset dialog before submitting the form. The form cannot be submitted without this selection.
Information
Single Destination does not support Parameter Control on Hardware Panels.
Split Mode: For Dynamic Presets in Take or Direct Take mode, define the layout ratio between Source and Destination sides. Options include 1:1, 2:1, 1:2, 3:1, 1:3, and Proportional. Enable Use Split Mode on software panel to apply the ratio in the hi web interface. Otherwise, the ratio applies only to Hardware Panels and the hi web interface remains split 1:1.
