Configure a Monitor Wall

Configure a Monitor Wall

Overview

Set up locations, rooms, and displays for a Monitor Wall.

Prerequisites

  • Use Monitor Wall admin and open Monitor Walls.

  • The installed license must enable Monitor Walls.

  • Identify the Destination Ports and any Multiviewer layout-control parameters required by the room.

Locations

If the system contains more than one location, the location list is displayed. If only a single location exists, hi may navigate directly to that location's room view; use the Monitor Walls breadcrumb to return to the location list.

Viewing Locations

The location list displays all configured locations with a search/filter field above. A summary line shows the total number of locations, how many are visible after filtering, and how many are selected.

See the illustrated example.

Creating a Location

  1. Select + in the location list.

  2. In the Add a new Location dialog, enter a name in Location.

  3. Select Add.

See the illustrated example.

Renaming a Location

  1. Select the Edit (pencil) icon next to the location name in the list.

  2. In the rename dialog, enter the new name in Location name.

  3. Select Rename to confirm.

Deleting Locations

Caution

Deleting a location removes all rooms, displays, and layouts within it. Deletion cannot be undone. Confirm that these configurations are no longer needed before deleting the location.

The workspace prevents deleting the last location or deleting all locations.

  1. Select one or more locations in the list.

  2. Open the command menu and select Delete.

  3. Confirm the deletion in the confirmation dialog.

Rooms

Within a location, rooms appear as tabs across the top of the view. Each tab represents one room (Monitor Wall).

See the illustrated example.

Select a room tab to switch to that room. The previously selected room is remembered per location.

Creating a Room

  1. Select Add Room from the toolbar menu. If no rooms exist, use the Add Room button in the empty state.

  2. If this is the first room and the location is still named "Default", a dialog first prompts to rename the location.

  3. In the Add a new Room dialog, enter a name in Room.

  4. Select Add.

See the illustrated example.

Deleting a Room

Caution

Deleting a room removes all monitors, Multiviewer Heads, and their layout configurations. Confirm that these configurations are no longer needed before deleting the room.

  1. Select the room tab for the room to delete.

  2. Select Delete from the toolbar menu.

  3. Confirm the deletion in the confirmation dialog.

Assigning Tags to a Room

  1. Select the room tab.

  2. Select Assign Tag from the toolbar menu.

  3. In the Select Tags to Assign to this Room dialog, select or clear Tags as needed.

  4. Save the Tag assignments.

Assigned Tags appear in the toolbar area below the room tabs. These Tags determine which displays from this room are visible on the Control Panel.

See the illustrated example.

Saving a Room Snapshot

  1. Select Save Snapshot from the toolbar menu.

  2. Select an existing Snapshot to update, or enter a name to create a new one.

  3. Select Add to save.

This adds the room's monitor-wall state to the selected or newly created Snapshot.

Editing a Room

The room edit view allows a user with Monitor Wall admin to arrange and configure the displays that make up a Monitor Wall.

Entering Edit Mode

Select Edit from the toolbar menu.

Information

In portrait orientation, the room editor shows Please turn your device to landscape! instead of the arrangement controls. Turn the device to landscape to edit the room, or use the cancel icon to leave editing.
