Operate a Monitor Wall

Overview

Open Monitor Wall displays in the Control Panel and inspect their layout state.

Prerequisites

  • Use Control Panel access and access to the required Monitor Wall and Destination Ports.

  • The room and displays must already be configured.

  • Changing display configuration requires Monitor Wall admin; follow Configure a Monitor Wall.

Viewing a Room

  1. Open Monitor Walls and select the required location.

  2. Select the room tab.

  3. Inspect its display cards before opening the display you intend to operate.

When not in Edit Mode, the room displays its Monitor Wall in a read-only layout view.

Each display card shows:

  • The display name.

  • For single monitors: the Single monitor label.

  • For Multiviewer Heads with layout control: the name of the currently active layout (determined by the live parameter value from the device).

  • For Multiviewer Heads with layout control but no matching layout: [Unknown layout] or No layouts defined yet.

  • For Multiviewer Heads without layout control: the No layout control is configured message.

  • A visual icon representing a configured layout, when one is available.

Opening the Control Panel from a Display

Select any display card to navigate to the Control Panel scoped to that display.

For Multiviewer Heads, the Control Panel shows:

  • The layout areas as Destinations.

  • Routing controls to change the Source feeding each area.

  • Display Layouts for switching between configured layouts.

The breadcrumb navigation at the top of the page allows returning to the room view or the location list.

Multiviewer Layout Control

The display card shows the layout that matches the device's live layout parameter. See Monitor Walls: Multiviewer Head for Layout Control with and without a configured parameter.

Ask a Monitor Wall admin to follow Editing a Display when layout-control configuration is missing or incorrect. To define or change a layout, see Create and Edit Multiviewer Head Layouts.

Verify the Result

Verify the intended Source on each Destination or layout area. If Apply reports Error recalling display layout., review the configured layout-control parameter. A selected layout alone does not confirm device recall. Retain the message and event time and use Customer Support if unresolved.
