Review License Status
Overview
Review the Licensing workspace before changing a license. For example, a sign-in capacity error requires a check of Usage, while an offline validation-service state requires a check of the identity lease as well.
Prerequisites
-
hi version 3.0.0 or later.
-
An account with Licensing admin.
-
The installation's Serial Number and the expected entitlements.
Review the Workspace
-
Open System > Licensing.
-
Confirm the Serial Number identifies the intended installation. Review the displayed customer and Device Name as additional context.
-
Record License Verified or License Not Verified, then inspect Validation Service, License Identity Lease, Host Signature, Validation Mode, Validation Status, and License State under License Details.
-
Review Usage and the total installed user-license quantity. Distinguish licenses currently in use from the total quantity. Use the hiUser datasheet to interpret consumption.
-
Review the Option rows for the required feature or quantity. Record its status and any supplied start date, end date, or remaining days.
-
If Licenses in Warning reports active warnings, select Show Warnings and retain the complete warning details.
Use License Status and Warnings Reference to interpret the fields. The existing Licensing workspace example shows the identity, usage, and details panels.
Information
Validation Service: Unavailable does not by itself mean the License Identity Lease is invalid. Review each displayed field before choosing a remedy.
Verify the Result
Confirm the recorded Serial Number, required Options, quantities, and validation states match the installation and intended task. Do not treat a successful upload or the absence of a banner as proof that every licensed operation works.
Next Steps
-
Use Synchronize an Online License when entitlements have changed and the service is reachable.
-
Use Renew an Offline License Identity Lease for the offline request/confirmation workflow.
-
Use A License Warning Remains Unresolved for an unexplained warning or invalid state.
