License Status and Warnings Reference
Overview
The Licensing workspace and application banners describe several distinct states. Use the complete displayed message and Review License Status before selecting an action. Purchased bundles and the Options they resolve to are explained in Licensing.
Licensing Workspace Fields
|
Field |
Meaning |
|---|---|
|
Serial Number |
Identifies the installation for licensing and support requests. |
|
License Verified / License Not Verified |
Summarizes whether a valid host signature or identity lease verifies the installed identity. |
|
Usage |
Shows consumed user-license capacity and the total installed quantity. |
|
Validation Service |
Available or Unavailable indicates whether the validation service is reachable. |
|
License Identity Lease |
Valid or Invalid reports the identity lease's validity. |
|
Host Signature |
Valid or Invalid reports the host signature's validity. |
|
Validation Mode |
Displays Host Locked, Online Verification, or Unavailable for the applicable verification state. |
|
Validation Status |
Displays host-locked verification, Valid Until with a date, or Not Valid. |
|
License State |
Displays the reported state of the installed license. Retain its complete wording when requesting assistance. |
|
Licenses in Warning |
Shows whether warnings exist. Show Warnings opens the warning details. |
Information
A reachable validation service, a valid identity lease, and a valid host signature are separate states. An unavailable service does not by itself mean that the installation identity or any Option is invalid.
Licensing Workspace Columns
Each row describes an Option resolved from a purchased bundle. License Option is the interface label; an Option is a feature flag, not a separate pricelist license.
|
Column |
Meaning |
|---|---|
|
Status |
The Option's validity or availability, shown by its status icon. |
|
License Option |
The Option's displayed name. |
|
Type / Quantity |
A counted entitlement quantity, or Enablement for an Option without a quantity. |
|
Start Date |
The start date, when supplied. |
|
End Date |
The expiry date, when supplied. |
|
Remaining Days |
The remaining validity period, when supplied. |
Quantity and Date Display Values
The field's text can be a state rather than a numeric quantity or date.
|
Displayed value |
Where it appears and how to read it |
|---|---|
|
Enablement |
Type / Quantity for an Option without a counted quantity. |
|
Not Started |
Type / Quantity, End Date, or Remaining Days when the Option has not started. |
|
Perpetual |
End Date and Remaining Days for a perpetual Option; Start Date can also show it when no start date is supplied. |
|
Unlimited |
The interface reports an unlimited value for the quantity or validity field. Read the value in its own column; it does not describe free user sessions. |
|
- |
A date or remaining-days value is not supplied for that field. |
Filter the Option List
Use Filter by text to search the Option list. Under Filter Validity, use Valid, Expiring, and Expired to control which states are displayed. These filters change the list view; they do not change the installed entitlement. Check the filters before concluding that an expected Option is absent.
An Option row's warning is distinct from the identity-lease warning described below. Preserve the affected Option name, status, and dates when reporting an unavailable feature.
Identity-Lease Expiration Warning
The persistent banner uses the installed identity lease's expiration time. Its wording says “A license”; it does not identify an arbitrary purchased bundle as the cause.
|
Severity |
Identity-lease state |
Displayed message |
|---|---|---|
|
Warning |
More than 14 days and no more than 31 days remain. |
A license will expire in [time]. Please renew it at your earliest convenience. |
|
Error |
More than zero and no more than 14 days remain. |
Alert: A license will expire in [time]. Please renew it as soon as possible. |
|
Error |
The expiration time has been reached or passed. |
Alert: A license has expired. Parts of the application will no longer function correctly. Please renew it now. |
Users with Licensing admin see a link on this warning; other users see the warning without that link. Open System > Licensing to inspect the reported state.
Activation Warning
Activation warnings use the activation renewal date. They are separate from the identity-lease expiration banner and from a user's session-expiration warning.
|

Displayed message |

Ask a Licensing admin to review the workspace and use the appropriate online or offline procedure. These activation banners do not provide a direct navigation action.
User Capacity and Restricted Mode
A sign-in request can be rejected with All available user licenses are currently in use. Please reach out to an administrator for assistance. Review active sessions and the hiUser session rules.
A System administrator can enter Restricted mode when the current connection is restricted. The initial dialog identifies one of these conditions:
|
Condition |
Displayed message |
|---|---|
|
No valid installed licenses |
No valid licenses installed yet. You will be logged on in restricted mode. |
|
No valid user licenses |
No valid user licenses installed yet. You will be logged on in restricted mode. |
|
User capacity in use |
All available user licenses are currently in use. You will be logged on in restricted mode. |
The dialog's OK action acknowledges the notice and opens licensing. Access remains restricted until the condition is resolved. An ordinary user's capacity rejection and an administrator's restricted connection are different outcomes.
Caution
Check operational use before closing another user's session or removing a Hardware Panel. The dialog's suggested remedies do not mean that a particular session or panel can safely be removed.
Demonstration and Cluster Warnings
|
Warning |
Meaning and safe response |
|---|---|
|
Demonstration / Evaluation Mode — Not for Production Use |
The installation is in demonstration/evaluation mode. Do not use it for production. Contact Riedel Customer Success for production licensing. |

This is a multi-node cluster without an 'enable-cluster' license. New device deployments are blocked. |
The detected cluster lacks the enabled cluster Option. A Licensing admin should review licensing with Riedel Customer Success. This warning does not authorize changes to the cluster infrastructure. |
Warning
Cluster maintenance and infrastructure recovery require specialist support. Contact Riedel Customer Success before intervention; a cluster malfunction can put database integrity and stored data at risk. Follow A Multi-Server Installation Reports a Server or Service Fault.
