Panel Scope

Native hi Hardware Panels and RIEDEL 1200 Series SmartPanel workflows

Requirements and Combinations

hiGlue requires hiBase for an existing hiBase installation or hiCore for a new installation. Each operator-facing Hardware Panel also requires one hiUser session. A hiContact GPIO box requires hiGlue but does not consume a hiUser session.

Planning Notes

One hiGlue entitlement enables the Hardware Panel and hiContact capability for the installation. Each operator-facing Hardware Panel uses one concurrent user session. hiBase and hiCore include two sessions, one reserved for the administrator; add hiUser only when simultaneous sessions exceed the included capacity.

For RIEDEL 1200 Series SmartPanel workflows on hi version 2.7.8 and later, use hiGlue and hiUser. The SmartPanel workflow does not require hiLink in those versions.

Scope Boundary

hiGlue enables the native panel and GPIO integration layer; it does not add user-session capacity. Count each active operator-facing panel as one session, then add hiUser only for sessions beyond the capacity included with hiBase or hiCore. Third-party clients, including supported third-party Hardware Panels, require installation-wide hiDock and one hiLink per active client. hiContact GPIO boxes require hiGlue but do not consume hiUser sessions.
