Overview

Look up local account fields, role categories, and Label Override choices for user profiles.

Local Account Fields

  • Login Name - unique identifier used for authentication (cannot be changed after creation)

  • Password and Password (repeat) - required for local (password-based) users

  • Display Name - the name shown throughout the hi web interface

  • Hide Irrelevant Tags - controls whether irrelevant, disabled Tags remain visible on the Control Panel; see Hide Irrelevant Tags

  • Control Panel Label Source - select the Port name property displayed for the account (see Label Override)

  • Roles - assign one or more roles from the Administrative Roles, Feature Access Roles, and Operation Roles groups (see Roles)

Roles

The assignment dialog presents roles under Administrative Roles, Feature Access Roles, and Operation Roles. See Access Control for the role definitions. Assign only the roles required for the user's responsibilities.

Label Override

Label Override selects the Port name property displayed on the Control Panel for an individual user, or on a Hardware Panel for its profile. The Label Sources below describe the available choices.

This setting is also available in your User Profile:

  • Use Edit Your User Profile to change your own Label Override in the Edit User Profile dialog. You do not need the User admin role.

  • Use Set a User Label Override to change the setting for selected users or Hardware Panel profiles. This procedure requires the User admin role.
