Create a Control Panel Preset
Overview
Save the current Port filtering and panel settings as a reusable Preset.
Prerequisites
-
Use an account with Control Panel access and Tag access to the required Sources and Destinations.
-
Open Control Panel and select the required Preset.
-
The required Sources and Destinations already have Tags accessible to the user. If Port Tag assignments are missing, ask a Node admin to follow Port Tagging before creating the Preset.
Create the Preset
-
On the Control Panel, set the Source and Destination Tag filters for the required Ports. See the illustrated example of applied Source and Destination filters.
-
On the Preset bar, select Create a new preset (+). Alternatively, open the three-dot Preset menu and select Create a new preset.
-
If the Select Preset type step appears, select Dynamic, then select Next. Select Static only to create a Static Preset; see Edit a Static Preset.
-
In Change Preset settings, enter a Preset Name and set the options described in the Preset settings.
-
Select Create.
The + button creates a Dynamic Preset directly. The Select Preset type step appears only for the menu entry when Static Presets are enabled for the installation.
hi saves the new Preset, delegates it to the current owner of the Preset bar, and selects it. A new Static Preset opens the Static Preset Editor after you select its Hardware Panel SKU and Create.
Verify the Result
Select the saved Preset and confirm that it shows the intended Sources and Destinations.
Next Steps
Use Route a Source to a Destination, pin Ports in the Preset, or delegate the Preset to Hardware Panels.
